Wine Club FAQs
How long before I receive my wine?
WineSavage generally ships on Mondays to avoid your wines being stored in warehouses or trucks that are not temperature controlled over the weekend. In the summer months (typically May-October) we may hold your order until the temperatures have lowered to a safe shipping temperature or we may ship with a temperature-controlled carrier. This is for your benefit and the integrity of your wine! Heat is wine’s worst enemy.
When shipping temperature-controlled, the wine is kept in a controlled environment until it reaches your local market. Then it is transferred to UPS/FedEx or a local carrier for the final delivery within 24-48 hours. This limits any exposure to the elements and helps to protect your wine.
We’ll also hold orders in the winter, and/or use the same temperature-controlled option, when temps are extreme in certain parts of the country. Freezing wine is bad too!
I want you to ship my wine via ground mid-July in a heat wave. Can you?
Yes, if you instruct us to do so, but we strongly recommend waiting until conditions are safe or using temperature-controlled shipping. If you ask us to ship against our weather recommendation, you accept the risk of temperature-related damage. Carrier loss or damage will continue to be handled under the applicable shipping and insurance terms.
I want to order over the phone or through email. Can I?
Ultimately, orders need to be placed through the website. But if you have a special request or need and wish to contact us in advance of placing the order, by all means, feel free to do so.
It is too hot or too cold to ship now but I know the wine is in limited supply and I want to buy it while it’s available.
We will hold your order for up to 6 months if the weather is not ideal, and/or we can offer temperature-controlled shipping as an option. Email us for details.
Can I use a faster shipping method?
Yes. We can also offer overnight and two-day air. Wine is heavy and the cost to ship faster is expensive, but as always we will quote you the lowest price we can.
Do you insure your shipments?
You have the option upon checkout to insure your package. It will cost you 1% of the purchase price for full insurance.
What if the shipment is lost or damaged?
Email us. We will fix it for you, to your satisfaction.
What states do you ship to?
We are able to ship wine to the following states AZ, CA, CO, CT, DC, FL, GA, IA, ID, IL, IN, LA, MA, MI, MN, MO, NC, ND, NE, NH, NJ, NM, NV, NY, OH, OR, PA, SC, TN, TX, VA, WA, WI, WV and WY. However, we make no representation to the legal rights of anyone to ship or import any wines into any state. By transacting with us, you represent that you have obtained any required permission, paid any required fees, are working through properly licensed intermediaries where required, are legally entitled to take possession of wine, are legally entitled to take quantities ordered and once again authorize that you are 21 years of age. You are solely responsible for the shipment of your wine and for determining the legality and the tax/duty consequences of having your wine shipped to you. If you have any questions, or live in a state not listed, please Contact Us to see if delivery is available in your state.
What payment options do I have?
You can pay using VISA, MasterCard, and American Express.
Can I send my order as a gift?
Of course. We do not include invoices in gift shipments.
How do I talk to a live person?
We are a small operation and spend much of our time visiting winemakers and wineries, looking for the next amazing wine we’ll be putting in our portfolio. We have no one answering phones while we’re out, but if you need to talk to someone please send a message via our Contact Us page and we will get back to you by email or phone within one business day.
How does the WineSavage club work?
Each quarter, WineSavage curates a shipment for its members based on the club they joined.
What is the difference between monthly and quarterly membership?
Quarterly members receive one curated shipment each quarter. Monthly members receive the same quarterly wine selection once each month, for three shipments per quarter.
When will I be charged?
Your payment method on file will be charged when each scheduled club order is processed. We’ll send order and shipment information to the email address associated with your account.
Can I skip or postpone a shipment?
If you need to postpone an upcoming shipment, contact us before the order is processed. We’ll do our best to accommodate your request. Weather-related holds can be held for up to six months.
How do I change or cancel my membership?
Contact WineSavage through our Contact Us page for help changing your membership, updating your delivery schedule or canceling your club.
Is an adult signature required?
Yes. Because every WineSavage shipment contains alcohol, someone 21 or older must be available to sign for the delivery. Carriers cannot leave wine shipments unattended.
Can someone else sign for my shipment?
Yes. Any adult age 21 or older at the delivery address may sign for the shipment. The carrier may request identification.
Can I reorder a wine from a previous shipment?
Often, yes. Club members receive a discount on reorders while inventory lasts. Many of our wines are produced in limited quantities, so availability is not guaranteed.
What happens if I am not home for delivery?
The carrier will make up to three delivery attempts. If no eligible adult is available to sign, the shipment will be returned to WineSavage and additional shipping charges will apply. You will also be responsible for the cost of reshipping the order. If you are not reliably available at home during delivery hours, consider using a business address where an adult age 21 or older can sign for the shipment.
Can I give a WineSavage membership as a gift?
Contact us and we’ll help you choose an appropriate club and delivery schedule. We do not include invoices in gift shipments.
