2023 Chardonnay

• 1,300 cases produced
• 6 months on 70% new French oak   

Tasting notes: 
The 2023 vintage in Sonoma has been called a vintage of a lifetime, due to its long and consistent growing season. The vintage saw no extreme jumps or drops in temperature allowing growers to pick at exactly the perfect moment without being rushed into harvest by any dramatic weather patterns or natural disasters.

On the nose the Chardonnay exhibits classic fruit notes of lemon, lime as well as green and yellow apple with nice hints of white peach. Beyond the fruit notes the wine gives off a river rock minerality and fresh lily flowers to add to the bouquet with touches of toasty French oak. The palate echoes the nose and along with it offers tones of crushed seashells and a supple mid-pallet that gives off an elegant, silky mouthfeel. The wine finishes lean and bright, which makes it the quintessential match for classic pairings such as shellfish, pasta with pesto and various cheeses such as brie and gouda.

Langhart & Hill

• Located on the North end of Dry Creek Valley
• Tasting Room is open to the public
• Produces ~50,000 cases per year, across 18 different wines, including: Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah and blends. 
• Pedroncelli was founded in 1927 (approaching their 100th year of continuous operation).  They are certified sustainable, and women own and led. 

2022 “Courage” Zinfandel

• 585 cases produced
• 100% Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel
• 16 months on 40% new oak

Tasting Notes
The aromas of ripe red berries and baking spices introduce this wine. Full-bodied with a plump fruit palate of blackberry, boysenberry, cinnamon, vanilla, and toasted oak notes. Our single vineyard Zinfandel finishes with hints of white pepper laced through the lingering lush fruit.omegranate arils mingled with toasted oak and hints of sage incense and sandalwood. A savory creaminess appears on the palate as the wine lingers in the long toasty finish.

Overshine Wine

• Tasting room located in Healdsburg, in the heart of Dry Creek Valley
• Produces ~3,000 cases per year across 12 different wines, including Vermentino, Sauvignon Blanc, Rose, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, and a few others.

2022 Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel

• 150 Cases produced
• Zinfandel field blend (about 5% mixed varietals including Alicante Bouschet, Carignan, and Petitie Sirah)
• 11 months 85 neutral French oak, 15% new French oak

Tasting Notes
This wine offers a beautifully modern expression of old-vine Dry Creek Zin. The nose opens with layers of ripe blackberry, dark cherry, and raspberry preserves, accented by cracked black pepper, baking spice, and a subtle earthy note reminiscent of freshly tilled soil. On the palate, the wine is rich and concentrated without feeling heavy, balancing juicy dark fruit with vibrant acidity and fine-grained tannins. Hints of toasted vanilla, bramble, cocoa, and sweet pipe tobacco emerge as the wine opens in the glass, leading into a long, polished finish marked by lingering spice and a touch of dried herbs.

It’s clear, the dog didn’t just find an owner, they found someone who needed them just as much as they needed a home.

This Cab commemorates Spike, a loyal canine who inspired his owner during hard times.

Tasting Notes
The 2022 Spike Wine Cabernet Sauvignon is a deep, ruby purple color that boasts from the glass with an abundance of dark ripe fruits, warm baked cherry pie, cinnamon crumble, black currants, vanilla and mocha. Layers of dark chocolate, espresso and spice are beautifully integrated. The wine’s supple tannins are plush and velvety on the palate, adding to a rich and textured mouthfeel. This Cabernet showcases a brilliant vein of freshness, amazing structure and culminates with an elegant long-lasting finish.

Tasting notes
This Syrah spent ten months in 25% new French oak, with the remainder aged in neutral barrels, allowing the wine’s unique character to shine. The nose offers a captivating blend of brambleberry and black currant, complemented by the subtle fragrance of shiso leaf. As it unfolds on the palate, cedar wood, and sweet tobacco layers create a rich, complex profile. A lingering finish highlights the wine’s depth and smoothness. Pair with grilled meats, rosemary-infused steak, or savory dishes like braised pork with a balsamic glaze.

• Produces ~1,500 – 2,000 cases per year across Rose of Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, Viognier, Merlot, Red Blends, Petite Sirah and Cabernet Sauvignon (from various appellations)

James Moss comes from Dallas, Texas where he first was introduced to fine wines working for a Texas distributor.  His work often brought him to the Napa Valley for further education.  That is when he began to fall in love with the industry and had the desire to produce his own fine wine that he could share with friends and family and eventually all wine lovers.  James decided to move to California in 1998 to follow this dream.

James’ career in winemaking began with helping out a friend at his small winery.  This is where he soon realized the complexity and commitment it took to produce an award winning wine and he has been committed to that goal ever since.  In addition to the day to day operations being the winemaker for J Moss, James hand selects the vineyards where the grapes are sourced, is the welcoming host at J Moss winery tastings and works out in the market hand selling J Moss wines to on and off premise customers in Northern California, Texas, Hawaii and beyond

2019 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

• 28 months on 85% French oak and 15% American oak (50% new oak and 50% one year old)

Tasting notes
The medium to full bodied Cabernet Sauvignon has bright, juicy, rich and robust flavors of black berries, dark cherries with hints of chocolate and toasted cedar. This beautiful structured wine has soft to medium tannins that leads you into a juicy finish that will have you wanting more.
