About the 2021 Stagecoach Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon

Tasting Notes: 
The 2021 Stagecoach Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon features a deep garnet-purple color and a complex aroma of crème de cassis, stewed black plums, and boysenberry preserves, accented by licorice, cedar, and sandalwood notes. This full-bodied wine delivers concentrated black fruit flavors and layers of exotic spices, balanced by firm, grainy tannins and a refreshing finish. The palate reveals ripe purple fruit with touches of vanilla, pine wood, and moist earth, leading to a succulent mid-palate. The tannins are well-structured, culminating in a long, opulent finish.

  • Produces ~400 cases per year across various Bordeaux varieties and some legacy planting wines. Cabernet Sauvignon and its hillside and valley floor expressions are the most significant portion of their production. They also make Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Merlot, Sauvignon blanc and a Vermouth based on Sauvignon blanc and local botanicals.
  • The vineyard has been organic since the winery inception, and to date, they have received numerous environmental credentials, such as Fish Friendly Farming, Bee Friendly Farming and Climate Adaptation certification.

  • 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from the estate in Alexander Valley

Tasting notes:
This is a velvety, rich wine, warm and inviting. You will find dark ripe raspberry and boysenberry here, along with Marcona almond and hints of toast coming from the French oak. A touch of sage and orange peel on the mid-palate keeps this wine lively. The finish continues for a mile.

Vine Cliff is one of the Napa Valley’s oldest wineries, with a history going back to 1871. They produce single vineyard wines from their steeply terraced site on Oakville’s legendary eastern bench.

Tasting Notes: 
The 2022 Vine Cliff Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon shows an energetic, floral quality with violet and fresh rose petal. There is ample acidity in the form of red currant. The overall impression is of a highly craveable Cabernet Sauvignon that shows Oakville’s classic plush texture and silky tannins without heaviness or excess weight.
