  • 938 cases produced
  • 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from their St Helena estate vineyard
  • 22 months in 65% new French Oak 35% single used French Oak.

Named for the variations of rock, loam, and clay soils found throughout the Crocker Vineyard, RLC is the embodiment of Crocker & Starr as a concept. RLC is the third distinctive estate Cabernet Sauvignon from our St. Helena vineyard estate. The varying soil compositions in these vine blocks (east of our historic Block 3) yield generous and supple grapes which in turn yield a plush and classic Cabernet Sauvignon wine.

Tasting notes:
The 2022 RLC shows beautiful blue, red, and black color. Aromas of black cherry, dried hibiscus, vanilla bean, tobacco leaf fill the space between wine and nose (very enticing). The elegant and balanced palate has layers of cherry, plum, mulberry and cocoa with the perfect amount fine tannin leading to a persistent finish. 2022 RLC drinks well upon release and is expected to age elegantly for 15+ years.

Marston Family Vineyard – 2017 Calistoga
Petite Sirah

Marston Family Vineyard

2017 Calistoga Petite Sirah

  • 121 cases produced
  • 100% Petite Sirah from Sundance Vineyard in Calistoga
  • 40% new French Oak for 20 months

Our fourth vintage of Petite Sirah after a 20-year hiatus matures from a small 3-acre plot in Calistoga. This wine captures everything we love about this varietal – power, finesse and character. Youthful and exuberant, this pure Petite Sirah captures the depth of the varietal with great sophistication.

Tasting Notes:
An intense bouquet of wild blackberries, clematis flower and a hint of clove leads into a layered mouth of fresh blackberries, black plum, cassis and black currant. Dark purple in color and full bodied with a silky mouthfeel, the richness combines effortlessly with the fine tannins and stone minerality for a long finish.

Tasting Notes
The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon The Black Aces has beautiful purity in its cassis and darker berry fruits, and it’s medium to full-bodied on the palate, with a focused, elegant, nicely balanced profile. It reveals more violet, loamy earth, and chocolate notes with time in the glass.
